Worship at Ascension
At the Church of the Ascension, worship is at the heart of our common life. Our services are rooted in the historic Anglican tradition, centered upon the Holy Eucharist, and shaped by the Scriptures, the 1928 Book of Common Prayer, and the ancient worship of the Christian Church.
Sunday Worship
Holy Communion is celebrated each Sunday at 10:00 a.m. We also observe principal Holy Days and other special occasions throughout the Church Year.
The Holy Eucharist
The Holy Eucharist is the center of our Sunday worship and the sacramental life of the parish.
The 1928 Book of Common Prayer
Our worship follows the historic 1928 Book of Common Prayer, which gives Anglican worship its distinctive rhythm of Scripture, prayer, confession, praise, and sacrament.
Sacred Music
Our congregational singing is drawn principally from the 1940 Hymnal, with music chosen to support the liturgical season and the worship of the Church.
The Church Year
Our worship follows the seasons and holy days of the Christian year, from Advent and Christmas through Epiphany, Lent, Easter, Pentecost, and Trinitytide.
Traditional Anglican Worship
Our services include the ceremonial, vestments, reverence, and ordered participation that belong to the historic Anglican Catholic tradition.
