Message from Father Weaver
Ordained priest in the Church of God on June 24, 2006, Father Michael served his first clerical
assignment at St. Andrew & St. Margaret of Scotland following his ordination to the deaconate in
February 2005.
In January 2007, Fr. Michael was called to be rector at St. Georges Anglican Church in Temple Hills, MD
and served as rector there through July 2010. Father also served as Priest-In-Charge at St. Matthew's
Newport News for 6 months of 2009 during their rector search.
On July 29, 2010, Fr. Weaver officially accepted the call of the Church of the Ascension to be it's new
rector and was officially instituted as such on October 23, 2010.
Fr. Michael was a member of the first graduating class from the Scott School of Theology in January
2005 and is in the process of earning his MA in Theology. Fr. Michael is also currently serving as the
Director of the DMAS youth summer camp.
Prior to his ordination, Fr. Michael was a Lay Reader, Acolyte, and Vestry Clerk at St. Annes Anglican
Catholic Church in Charlotte Hall, MD. Combined with his duties as Priest, Fr. Michael holds a secular
job with the Office of Personnel Management in Washington, DC as an auditor. Father is a graduate of
the University of Maryland (1996) with a BS in Business Administration (Accounting) and loves his Terps.
Father Michael has been married to Deborah (Debbie) Weaver since October 2006 and they currently
reside in Waldorf, MD.
